I love salads, and I love making my own creations. Salad doesn't have to be boring. Don't get stuck in the mindset of lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes, not that there's anything wrong with that! Here are a few combinations that I like to throw together:
Just Peachy Salad: Mixed greens, sliced peaches, almonds, cucumber, avocado, balsamic vinaigrette
Mixed Berry Salad: Mixed greens, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, avocado, walnuts, raspberry vinaigrette
Strawberry Spinach Salad: Mixed greens, strawberries, cucumbers, red onion, sliced almonds, lemon vinaigrette
Traditional Savory Salad: mixed greens, colorful sliced bell peppers, cucumbers, shredded carrots, balsamic vinaigrette
Add your own additions to any of the above or omit an ingredient that you don't like. Make it a meal by adding some chic peas, grilled chicken or fish, harboiled eggs, cheeses like feta or goat cheese or additional nuts.
Are you being intentional about your health? If not, why not? Our health is so important and most of us don't realize it until something happens. We think, we will make it a priority someday, and then someday comes and there are a whole host of health issues that could have been prevented or lessened by being intentional about our choices.
What do you need help with? Meal planning and prepping? Knowing what to eat? Developing an exercise routine? Knowing what type of exercises to do and how much to do? Taking care of ourselves is a total body process. It's a matter of attitude as well as exercising and eating well. We talk to ourselves in our heads (ok some of us do out loud as well :) all day long. Are we building ourselves up with what we think about, or bringing ourselves down? We need to train our brains to focus on the positive. It's a process, but one that has huge benefits. Remember taking care of ourselves includes our thought processes as well. Think carefully!

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather, and getting some fresh air and exercise. Remember to fuel your body with all the nutrients it needs as well. Some recipes for you to try below:

Hello Friends,
As we get older, sometimes we start to wonder if we can still be as fit as we once were. On the one hand, we want to honor our bodies where they are at and not over do it to the point of injury. On the other hand, we don't want to limit ourselves because we think we are getting too old to feel good or look good. We tend to think that we can let ourselves go because we deserve it or don't have the energy for it. But the truth is we deserve to take better care of ourselves, and the more we do, the more energy we have. The more we do for ourselves now, the more we can enjoy our later years. It's never too late to start exercising and eating better!
