We've all heard this saying before, but the reality is, it's true!  When we eat well, we give our bodies the nutrients they need to flourish.  When we don't eat well, it's hard for our bodies to function properly leaving us feeling tired, getting sick more often, and even like we are on an emotional rollercoaster at times.  When we eat poorly, we never feel satisfied because our bodies are still needing those necessary nutrients that we are lacking.

I'll say it again, eating well and having a healthy lifestyle doesn't mean you go without.  It just means you are being intentional about what you do on a regular basis.  It's about making small daily changes that become healthy habits that together add up to big changes towards a healthier you!  For example:  cut out the sugary drinks or soda 5 days a week, or cut out sugar and just have some on the weekends or on special occasions.  Go for a 20 minute walk 3 times a week.  Be specific, consistent, and intentional.  If you get off track, no biggie, just get back on.  Need some help? I've got you!!

Sometimes we think it's selfish to make ourselves a priority or that we don't deserve it.  Other times we think we just don't have the time to invest in ourselves.  The truth is: it isn't selfish, we absolutely deserve it, and we don't have the time to NOT invest in ourselves.

It's not selfish!  In fact, when you are healthy, you actually have more to give of yourself and are able to do the things you love and to be available to others.

You deserve it!  We all deserve to feel our best and to live life to the fullest.

You do have the time!  When we feel our best, we actually have more time and energy available to us.  Sickness and doctor's appointments suck up way too much of our time. Preventative messures actually give us more time and more quality time.

Like I stated in the post below: go for a walk a few times a week, make a new healthy meal once a week(some of those will become new healthy staples), enjoy some quiet time each day even if that just means a few minutes of some deep breathing exercises, remember to take your vitamins.  It doesn't have to be complicated.  Need some direction and encouragement to get started?  Look under the "About" section of my website to take advantage of my wellness packages, or we can custom design one specifically for you!  Take the leap in 2022 and make yourself a priority!

Remember to take care of yourself no matter the season!  The greatest form of self love is taking care of yourself physically, emotionally, and nutritionally.  Go for a walk, make a healthy new recipe, spend 5 minutes a day in peace and quiet doing some deep breathing exercises.  There's only one you, so love yourself well!

Exercising doesn't have to be a burden.  In fact, once you get in a regular routine, most people find that they enjoy it and even look forward to it.  You don't have to exercise for hours each day to reap the rewards either.  Just a 1/2 hour 3 or 4 times a week can have tremendous benefits physically, mentally, and emotionally!  Don't know where to begin?  I'm here to help!  As a Certified Personal Trainer, I'm here to help those who are already well on their way to better health and fitness and those who are just starting out.  Need to start slow due to an illness or injury?  I get it: been there, done that.  Sometimes you just need to begin with the basics of balance and flexibility.  Already working out but not seeing any results? I can help with that too!

Make exercise a priority and reap all the benefits!  Check out my wellness packages in the "About" section above.

I love salads, and I love making my own creations.  Salad doesn't have to be boring.  Don't get stuck in the mindset of lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes, not that there's anything wrong with that! Here are a few combinations that I like to throw together:

Just Peachy Salad: Mixed greens, sliced peaches, almonds, cucumber, avocado, balsamic vinaigrette

Mixed Berry Salad: Mixed greens, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, avocado, walnuts, raspberry vinaigrette

Strawberry Spinach Salad: Mixed greens, strawberries, cucumbers, red onion, sliced almonds, lemon vinaigrette

Traditional Savory Salad: mixed greens, colorful sliced bell peppers, cucumbers, shredded carrots, balsamic vinaigrette

Add your own additions to any of the above or omit an ingredient that you don't like.  Make it a meal by adding some chic peas, grilled chicken or fish, harboiled eggs, cheeses like feta or goat cheese or additional nuts.
