We aren't meant to look like barbie dolls. Here are some barbie doll fun facts: if Barbie were an actual woman, she would be 5'9" tall, have a 39" bust, an 18" waist, 33" hips, and a size 3 shoe. She would be projected to weigh around 110 pounds and have a BMI of 16.24. In real life, this would make Barbie anorexic and certainly not healthy! We need to get out of the mindset that skinny is healthy. Of course being obese is most certainly NOT healthy, we need to view health in the bigger picture. Are you eating well most of the time? Are you exercising on a regualr basis? Do you take some time for yourself to do the things you love? Are you taking time to be still? Take some inventory, and think about some ways you can take better care of yourself and make it happen. Stop trying to be skinny and start working on being healthy! I'm always available if you need some help getting started.

Our thoughts have so much power over us! Not only do they have an effect on us, but on everything and everyone around us! We often develop unhealthy patterns in our thinking that have an impact on our daily lives. We need to "clean up" our way of thinking, but in order to do that we need to be aware of our negative patterns. The article below gives a great breakdown of the many directions our thinking can take. We usually fall into more than one category. Identify a few that you have a tendency towards and now, being aware, work on shifting those thought patterns to more positive thinking. I love the last suggestion in the article: Define don't dwell. Check out the article below.

You've heard me say this before, but I don't like the word diet, nor do I believe in "diets" the way most people use the word. If you say, I try to eat a healthy diet, then to me, that is an apporpriate use of the word. Fad diets and diets generally don't work long term, but creating a healthier lifestyle and having a healthier way of eating does! We need to nourish our bodies for total health and wellness. We need to nourish our bodies nutritionally, physically, and emotionally. Take a self inventory. How are you doing in each of those areas? If not well, then why? Remember you are worth the effort. Your health is worth the investment! Reach out to me if you need help getting started!

Quick Overview: 10 days of eating whole, real foods - nothing processed. Limited dairy and gluten, only because these are both harder on the digestive system and for some people, they can be inflammatory. Plus they are processed. (Have your half and half in your coffee. I'm not that cruel lol) No sugar, but lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Drinking plenty of water, and taking a good probiotic to help build those good guys back up. No beer, but a glass of wine or 2 is ok(preferably low sugar), but if you can do 10 days without, even better. It's only 10 days!!! You can do this!
